Proverbs 8:35
For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD.
Good reminder that life is found not in myself or in the things of this world, but rather life is found in God alone. Simple but true. So to find true life, I must seek and find God and life as God intends will happen. Simple but true.
Proverbs 8:19
ReplyDeleteMy fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.
I believe that this is a daily struggle for us, worldly wealth, or heavenly wealth? Gold & silver looks great and you might be able to buy really great things with it, but that’s just it, it's just things, things of this world. Yet what God yields surpasses, cause it's everlasting, just has he and his love are.
Proverbs 8:36
But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death.
When I woke up this morning, my first thought wasn't "I think I'll harm myself today." or that I "love death" But I look back on the day and think "did I?" "Did I harm myself? Or put myself in harms way?" Well sure I did! I might not have realized it at the time, but when I did Gods love protected me. (Of course he lets me have the opportunity to learn from my mistakes, as he shows me what I could have done different.)
The second part of this verse makes me think: either you love God or hate him, love death or hate it. Not really any grey area there. Seems like a slam dunk on what we should be thinking and in our hearts. But do I live like I believe this? And do others around me see this in my life?
Easy way to think on it.
