Proverbs 7

Proverbs 7:7-9 (NIV)
I saw among the simple, I noticed among the young men, a youth who lacked judgment. He was going down the street near her corner, walking along in the direction of her house at twilight, as the day was fading, as the dark of night set in.

Much of my life can seem innocent enough - so much so that I often don't give it much thought. But I was reminded today that that is a dangerous place to be and that I need to always be paying attention so that I am certain that I am in the right place and engaging with the right things. In short I need to live with discernment.

What wisdom did God give to you today?

  1. Proverbs 24-25 (MSG)
So, friends, listen to me, take these words of mine most seriously. Don't fool around with a woman like that; don't even stroll through her neighborhood.

Proverbs reminds me here of the wisdom of avoiding temptation. While it is not necessarily a sin to walk through the neighborhood of the wayward woman, the wise thing to do is avoid it altogether.
