Proverbs 4:23 (NIV)
Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.
My heart can so easily be drawn to so many things that are not honoring to God. One way that I can guard my heart is to make a point to be in God's Word on a daily basis. I find that my heart is more easily drawn towards earthly junk if I don't take the time to be in the presence of God daily.
Did you hear from God today?
How many things do I long for more than the deep desire I should have for wisdom? There are many things of this world that I can desire if I am not filling my heart with God's promises and understanding eternal fulfillment instead of temporary....I need to make more sacrifice in my life to attain wisdom.

PR 4:25 Let your eyes look straight ahead,

The eyes must be focused on proper goals. The wise person will have an unswerving directness, but the fool is easily distracted.
What is the goal of this blog?
Good question on the goal of this blog. Summitview and Day Seven churches have come from a long heritage of people that believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that it is useful in our everyday lives. This blog is simply meant to encourage one another to be in His Word daily and to share with one another what God is teaching us. It is simply one way to obey the following scripture:

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.
Nothing is more encouraging than God's Word! So as we share God's Word with one another we are living the scripture.
