Proverbs 24

28 Do not testify against your neighbor without cause,
or use your lips to deceive.

As we learned last weekend how our words are powerful. My goal should always be to use my words in positive and encouraging ways. My that be true of my words today.

Ephesians 4:29 (NIV)
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

  1. Proverbs 24:10
If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!

When I think of this verse what comes to mind is, don't complain about your problems, the trouble I have today is training me to be strong for the more difficult times I will face in the future...

We all know we are not going to handle things perfectly when trouble comes our way...
But when I falter in something that is very small, I think now how would I have responded if this thing would have aucually been big?

This concept also reminds me of Jeremiah 12:5:
“If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses?
If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by the Jordan?”

It’s like God is saying to Jeremiah, “If you think this is bad, how are you going to cope when it gets really tough?”
