In addition to physical rest, we also need emotional rest. Again, we are spiritual beings living in a physical world and so much of what we are engaged in on a day-to-day basis touches our emotions and therefore, it's so easy to become emotionally exhausted.
You might try the following prescription for emotional rest:
1) Include time in your Sabbath for quietness.
Psalms 46:10a (NIV)
"Be still, and know that I am God;
It's Ok, Jesus did it:
Mark 6:31 (NIV)
Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."
We need some quiet space in our lives to recharge physically, emotionally and spiritually and to find rest in God.
2) Include time for family.
Ecclesiastes 9:9 (NLT)
Live happily with the woman you love through all the meaningless days of life that God has given you in this world. The wife God gives you is your reward for all your earthly toil.
3) Include time for fellowship.
Hebrews 10:25 (AMP)
Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.
Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)
A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
We will be refreshed when we put others above ourselves.
